The main event for UFC 178 is no more.

0_HayabusaGi_StampSiteLight-heavyweight champion Jon Jones is out of the bout with a leg injury.

First reports from the UFC say that the match was rescheduled for January 3,  at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas.

The main event for UFC 178 on September 27 has been changed to a UFC flyweight title showdown between Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Chris Cariaso, which was previously slotted as the co-main event for UFC 177 in Sacramento on August 30.

Daniel Cormier already reacted to the news with a hit to the champion: “I’m disappointed, but now I have time to be completely healthy. I don;t know how hurt Jon is, but we have to remember that I took this fight with a ore-existing injury. I could have fought with my injury and I was hoping he would do the same.”
