Jon Jones’ vs Daniel Cormier 2 has been ruled a no contest. The news was revealed only hours ago via MMA Fighting.
Jones vs Cormer 2 — which was held at UFC 214 on July 29 — was originally a second-round knockout for Jones. The win marked his second victory over Cormier and the second time he became UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), however, has overturned the decision.
Contrary to what was originally reported, the belt has not yet been stripped from Jones. Furthermore, if it is stripped, it is unclear as to whether or not Cormier will once again be crowned champion or the light heavyweight championship will be left vacant.
