The biggest market that the MMA world has yet to enter would be New York and the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden. UFC President Lorenzo Fertitta recently stated in an interview with New York Post that the UFC would be heading to MSG on April 23rd, even though the sport has yet to be legalized in the state. Even more important in that interview from the UFC kingpin is the question of who would headline the historical first card in the state?
That answer had us all jumping in excitement and in shock, as we all were stunned and thought “Jon “Bones” Jones vs. Daniel Cormier II at the Madison Square Garden on April 23rd?” Although the event has yet to be made official and the promotion still has a few legal hurdles to jump through before this could actually happen, just the thought of the UFC finally coming to New York has got to make all MMA fans extremely excited.
