Jon Jones has finally tested clean after a series of positive banned substance tests that have marred his fighting career, according to MMA Junkie.
The drug test was administered on the night of Jones’ last fight, which took place at UFC 232 on December 29 of last year and ended in Jones defeating Alexander Gustafsson to win the light heavyweight title. The event was originally going to be held in Las Vegas, but was moved to Los Angeles after “atypical findings” surfaced in Jones’ December 9 drug test. Gustafsson had been vocal about his feelings about Jones’ previous positive tests, calling him a cheater, which prompted Jones to include a message for him in an Instagram post about the clean test:
Jones’ next fight will take place at UFC 235 against Anthony Smith.
