UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is not a cheater; he’s the victim of his own ignorance.
At least that was the message he conveyed in two recent tweets.
Don't write me off just yet, I know in my heart that I'm not a cheater. I trust in the system to help me prove it https://t.co/aE2vP9BlVp

Jones was expected to fight Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier in a unification bout at UFC 200. However, the UFC removed him from the match when banned substances – Hydroxy Clomiphene and Letrozole metabolite – were found in his system.
Jones did not directly confirm or deny steroid use on Twitter. When a user with the handle, DeezKnicks, told Jones he had “probably been using roids” his whole career, Jones simply replied, “Yep that’s the consensus.”

Earlier, Jones said there was no evidence he actually took steroids.
You're absolutely right man, I learned that myself over the last week. But it doesnt mean you actually took steroids https://t.co/qkv6tw3Dej

The interim champion has also taken a surprisingly positive look at his current troubles, hoping they will inspire others.
I know I'm writing a story that someone else will draw strength from in the future. I owe it to them not to give up https://t.co/dbW2N4nRUO

Jon Jones was once considered the pound-for-pound best fighter by MMA websites such as a Sherdog. Only one controversial disqualification loss sullies his 23-fight professional MMA career.
There is no news yet on when or if Jon Jones will be back in action.
