Johnny Tama, AJ Agazarm, Roberto Jimenez, & More Announced For Upcoming F2W Events

In case you missed it, Fight 2 Win is getting back to action soon — as early as next weekend, in fact. Following a pandemic-related hiatus that began with the forced and abrupt cancelation of F2W 138, the promotion announced a few days ago that they’ve tentatively scheduled events over the next few weeks. The number of matches per card will be halved, and no live audience will be present.

Now, the promotion has announced who we can expect to headline the next few cards.

F2W 139, scheduled for May 15, will be capped off with a no-gi main event match between Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu and Vinicius Ferreira. Both athletes won their respective divisions at IBJJF No-Gi Worlds in 2019, and their clash on the F2W stage will provide an explosive welcome back for the promotion.

The co-main event of the evening will be a 170lb no-gi match between Ethan Crelinsten and Johnny Tama. Crelinsten, an RGA/Tristar athlete, just took home a victory at Submission Underground 13 against Andrew Alexander, and he’ll be hoping to continue that success against his opponent. Tama, for his part, made history last year when he won gold at No-Gi Worlds, becoming the first Ecuadorian black belt to do so.

The very next day on May 16, F2W 140 will see Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho take on AJ Agazarm in a 185lb gi match. Both competitors have taken home gold at No-Gi Worlds, the former earning the honor four times over his black belt career. Their match will follow a co-main event between Roberto Jimenez and Gabriel Almeida, which will take place in the gi at 185lbs. Jimenez was a champion for the promotion as a brown belt and has been on a tear as a new black belt, securing wins over Keenan Cornelius and Dan Martinez, among others. Almeida earned his place in the 2019 ADCC competitive pool last year when he qualified for the event via the Sao Paulo Trials.

Fight 2 Win CEO Seth Daniels told the Jiu-Jitsu Times that we can expect their shows to get “progressively more stacked” over the next few weeks. “Basically for these first couple weeks, we’ve been trying to get the best athletes in the world who are ready to compete on short notice. When we get to June, the cards are going to be insane. I’ve had a plan the whole time, I just needed FloGrappling to support me, and they really are.”

For the time being, we can continue to expect cards on back-to-back days on the weekends with ten to twelve undercard matches each evening. “The plan is to get two events per weekend until we can get up to 500 people in a room, then we’ll start touring again like we did before,” said Daniels.

Fight 2 Win 139 and 140 will take place on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 in Dallas, TX and can be streamed live only on FloGrappling.
