UFC fan favorite Joanna Jedrzejczyk will have her next fight on October 12, according to an announcement from ESPN.
The former strawweight champion will be headlining a UFC Fight Night against Michelle Waterson, who is a former Invicta champion and has won her last three fights. The event is likely to take place in San Francisco, CA.
Jedrzejczyk was dethroned and suffered her first loss at the hands of Rose Namajunas in November 2017. After a second loss to Namajunas in April 2018, she defeated Tecia Torres via unanimous decision just three months later. Jedrzejczyk later moved to the flyweight division and faced Valentine Shevchenko for the title at UFC 231, but lost via unanimous decision. With only three losses in her professional MMA career, Jedrzejczyk remains a compelling and exciting competitor, and her match against the 17-6 Waterson will be a can’t-miss spectacle for UFC fans.
