Jiu-jitsu puts Marcus Buchecha in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’

The biggest champion in IBJJF history, Marcus Buchecha was recently caught by surprise with another honor. After occupying the top of the world’s most important podium in BJJ for a total of eleven times, he has now been officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Following his tenth world title in 2017, which marked his tie with Roger Gracie, Buchecha returned to the IBJJF World Championship in 2018 to win another gold medal at ultra-heavyweight.

In the book, updated for the new year, his number of titles appears as ten, but that doesn’t make it any less sweet for Buchecha.

“Best way to start the year,” he said on Instagram. “Receiving the Guinness Book at home and seeing my name there as the biggest record holder of world titles in the sport. Impossible to thank one person, but those who were and are a part of it know my gratitude! Thank you so much.”
