Polaris has announced that two longtime favorites in MMA and BJJ will go head to head at their ninth event.
Jake Shields will face Rafael Lovato Jr. in a 200-lb catchweight BJJ superfight at Polaris 9. The event will also feature a match between Ffion Davies and Gezary Matuda and a match between Vagner Rocha and Ross Nicholls.
Shields and Lovato Jr. are both highly accomplished in the MMA world as well as in jiu-jitsu. Shields currently fights for the welterweight division of the PFL, while his opponent is undefeated in MMA and currently fights for Bellator. Both competitors are ADCC veterans, and Lovato Jr. is a world champion in both gi and no-gi. Shields is also a multiple-time Polaris veteran.
Shields vs. Lovato Jr., along with many other exciting matches, will happen on March 15 and can be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
