2005 ADCC champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is returning to the UFC Octagon for the first time since April, and he’ll be able to showcase his skills in the main event of the evening.
Souza will be facing off against Jan Blachowicz, who is coming off a KO win against Luke Rockhold earlier this year, in a 205lb fight. The fighters will compete in the final bout of UFC Sao Paulo, which takes place on November 16.
Souza is an accomplished athlete in both MMA and grappling. He has a 26-7 record in professional MMA, with 14 of his wins coming via submission. He won IBJJF Worlds multiple times twice as a black belt (and even more as a colored belt), and in 2005, he earned the title of ADCC Champion. He later returned to the event in 2009, where he won his superfight against Robert Drysdale. His status in the competitive jiu-jitsu world has made him a favorite in the Octagon among BJJ practitioners.
Souza vs. Blachowicz and many other exciting fights will go down on Saturday, November 16.
