IBJJF European Open No-Gi 2017 Results

The epic battle for the European Open No-Gi gold has just ended, and it was truly a great tournament. Some of the biggest names in Brazilian jiu-jitsu were at there and each person gave it their best. Some of the athletes at the tournament were Mahamed Aly, Darragh O’Connail, Thiago Sa, and Hiago George. Other big-name stars at this event were Luca Anacoreta, Muslim Pastsarigov, A.J. Azagarm and Isaque Bahiense.

Predictably, the fights in the heavyweight division were keenly contested. Each match was a war of attrition, but winners emerged at the end of the day. Tiago Sa took the gold medal in the heavyweight division while Isaque Bahiense won the middleweight gold. The star of the tournament was Mahamed Aly. The Brazilian rising star won gold in the super-heavyweight division. He also won a gold medal in the open category. Mahamed Aly took a total of three gold medals and one silver . At just 24 years of age, he is surely destined for great things.
