The IBJJF has just confirmed the date for the second edition of the BJJ Pro League.
The event that pays money prizes for champions and runner-ups will be held next December 8, at the Long Beach Pyramid.
This year the champion of each category will receive a $5,000 prize and runner-ups will get $1,000.
The 2013 BJJ Pro League will consist of four weight divisions gathering the best placed male black belt athletes in the IBJJF ranking.
The weight divisions are:
Rooster / Light Feather / Feather – Up to 70 kg (154.5 lb)
Light / Middle – Up to 82.3 kg (181.5 lb)
Medium Heavy / Heavy – Up to 94.3 kg (208 lb)
Super Heavy / Ultra Heavy – Over 94.3 kg (over 208 lb
The first two athletes confirmed belong to the Light/Middle division, the 2013 Worlds middleweight finalists, Otavio Sousa and Claudio Calasans Jr.
In the next days, the IBJJF will release more info on the 2013 BJJ Pro League.
