Leg locks used to be a rarity in jiu-jitsu and submission grappling, and even more of a rarity in MMA. But with the explosion of leg locks in the advanced jiu-jitsu metagame, fans are starting to see more and more leg locks — specifically heel hooks — in MMA. Also of note is Aviv Gozali’s lightning-fast, record-setting heel hook victory. Gozali is currently 6-0 as a professional with six first-round submission wins.
Bellator MMA returns to action on Friday, June 11 with Bellator 260, headlined by a welterweight title fight between champion Douglas Lima and challenger Yaroslav Amosov.
