If the UFC rankings are any indication, Henry Cejudo wasn’t joking when he announced his retirement after beating Dominick Cruz at UFC 249.
“Triple C” declared that he would be leaving the competitive MMA world in a post-fight interview, repeating the assertion in the post-fight press conference. With Cejudo’s penchant for stirring the pot and creating hype (and drama), it was no surprise that so many people assumed that perhaps he was just using the announcement as a way to negotiate better fights or higher pay, but he’s now been removed from the UFC bantamweight rankings.
Cejudo was once at the top of the bantamweight charts, listed as the division champion. But now, that spot sits empty on the official UFC rankings page, seemingly showing proof that the 33-year-old is hanging up his gloves for good. Marlon Moraes currently sits at the top, with Aljamain Sterling just behind him.
If this is truly the end of Cejudo’s MMA career, he’ll have finished it off with a 16-2 professional record, winning all of his last six fights.
