Hector Lombard and Nate Marquardt will fight as part of the UFC 166 card this fall, according to reports from yesterday, Wednesday.
Lombard and Marquardt will likely feature on the main card of the Pay-Per-View, which takes place Oct. 19 in Houston.
Marquardt (32-12-2) is fresh off his return to the UFC, a knockout loss to Jake Ellenberger, after spending the previous two fights in Strikeforce. The fighter spent a short time as the promotion’s welterweight champion before losing the title to Tarec Saffiedine in the company’s final fight card.
Lombard (32-4-1, 1 N.C.) will be making his welterweight debut in his fight with Marquardt. The former Bellator middleweight champion debuted in the UFC on a 25-fight unbeaten streak with a massive amount of hype behind him, but has gone only 1-2 since coming the Las Vegas-based promotion.
UFC 166 is headlined by heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and challenger Junior dos Santos. The heavyweight main event will be the third time the two face each other.
