The long, complicated, and expensive process of becoming a United States citizen is finally complete for Guilherme (“Gui”) Mendes of the Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy.
Mendes, who runs the famous BJJ academy with his brother, Rafa, shared the exciting news on social media, praising the USA and thanking the immigration lawyers who helped make his new citizenship possible.

Mendes’ good news comes just a month after 2019 ADCC champion Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes announced that he had earned his US citizenship.
