Gracie Barra Texas to Resume In-Person Classes

This afternoon, GB Texas head instructor and BJJ legend Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes announced that his school would resume in person classes effective immediately. The announcement was made via Draculino’s as well as the school’s Instagram pages.

Following GB North America President Flavio Almeida’s reopening initiative, these classes will be no contact and under strict guidelines for students and instructors. Scheduling for students will take place using the school’s SimplyBookMe page found in their Instagram bio.

According to Almeida, class size will be kept to eight during phase one of the initiative, and live sparring will be reintroduced on a county by county basis for the proceeding months.

Though these class formats are a far cry from traditional BJJ, getting people back on the mats should do a lot for morale. Currently they’re no updates on whether openings will be rolled out to other GB affiliates through the country.

The JJT will continue to follow this story as it develops.
