Gordon Ryan has done it! Not that anyone thought he couldn’t.
The 21-year-old “Iron Dragon” and member of the notorious Danaher Death Squad tapped middleweight after middleweight to have the honor holding the first Eddie Bravo Invitational middleweight strap.
Ryan took out four grapplers to win the title. Two fell by rear naked choke and two fell by heel hook. Only one of his matches went into overtime.
His final match took place against Kyle Griffin, who almost had his arm broken in the previous scuffle against Felipe Fogolin. Ryan got on his back, Griffin fell, and the Iron Dragon got the early tap via heel hook.
During his post fight interview, Gordon Ryan said it was great to fight in the middleweight class rather than against “monsters,” but said he’d have no problem putting on some more weight and fighting in bigger weight classes.
