Tonight marks the 24th installment of Shooto Brazil, to kick off at 8pm at the Nilson Nelson gymnasium in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia, and two titles will be on the line, as our collaborator Junior Samurai reports.
Former UFC fighter Antonio Samuray will be looking to keep up his winning streak when he takes on the highly touted Glover Teixeira in the under-100kg title fight. Asked his thoughts on his opponent’s toughness, the Ceara state native was straightforward: “No one’s afraid of a tough fight. Were it any other way we wouldn’t fight. We don’t do ballet, we fight!”
In the under 52kg division, André Galo will bring his best game to try and wrench the divisional title from the beast from Macaé city. The fighter will be looking for revenge for his loss to Sá in the October 2010 under-52kg GP semifinal.
“This time I’ll have my revenge. Last time I fought with a broken hand; now I’m going to go all out,” asserted the student of Danilo Dragon and Guilherme Santos.
Besides the bouts on the card, featuring Chacal, Marmota and Macaco, another treat the federal district will enjoy is the female matchup between Luciana Pereira and Bete Tavares.
