MMA seems like a bit of a reality show all its own sometimes, and now, ONE Championship is just embracing it.
The promotion has announced that it will be hosting its own version of the hit reality TV show “The Apprentice,” with some of the top athletes of the martial arts world getting involved. Currently, Georges St-Pierre, Renzo Gracie, Ben Askren, Demetrious Johnson, Angela Lee, Brandon Vera, Sage Northcutt, Jingnan Xiong, Ritu Phogat, and ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong are among the cast.
Based on the description of the show on the promotion’s website, the format will be quite similar to the original edition of the reality show, with an MMA-based spin:
“The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition brings together the hit reality competition show and the largest global sports media property in Asia’s history. The show is helmed by entrepreneur and business mogul Chatri Sityodtong, who is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of ONE Championship. Contestants from around the world will compete in high-stakes challenges designed to test their limits, with the ultimate prize being a once-in-a-lifetime US$250,000 job at ONE Championship working under Sityodtong himself.“
According to the website, the show will consist of thirteen episodes, during which sixteen contestants will compete for the grand prize.
We don’t have an official release date for the show just yet, but for now, check out this preview:
