Those of us who get anxious and stressed before a jiu-jitsu competition may wonder how big-name athletes can fight in front of massive crowds and say that they genuinely enjoy fighting for a living. While there are surely many professional fighters who thrive under the stress of training and competing in a combat sport, not everyone loves the strain that accompanies the fight life.
Georges St-Pierre himself recently admitted to ESPN that as much as he loves what his fighting career gave to him, he never actually enjoyed the act of fighting for a living. He even went so far as to say he never enjoyed “one second in the Octagon in [his] entire career.”
