Last weekend’s Kasai Pro 2 caught the eye of the jiu-jitsu community around the world thanks to its dramatic matchups and results. But although the tournament has come and gone, AJ Agazarm has made sure that people haven’t stopped paying attention. He’s been calling out everyone from Joe Rogan to Eddie Bravo to Geovanny “Freakahhzoid” Martinez, and on Wednesday, Martinez finally responded to Agazarm’s jabs via social media:
AJ – I'm going to be real with you. I've been in this game for awhile. I was traveling the world fighting my way through…

“ AJ – I’m going to be real with you. I’ve been in this game for awhile. I was traveling the world fighting my way through life as a bboy by 17. In that scene this kind of **** talking back and forth is the norm. Every crew are rivals. Every battle feels like a personal fight. I loved it for what it was, it was hype and during those younger years I had that fire and anger to fight against it.
Now with experience I can approach as I choose. At the end of the day I’ve realized I’m just addicted to the heat of competition. I feel best in the middle of a war.. not all the time, in fact most of the time I prefer good food, video games, friends.. But it doesn’t take long before I get that itch. And I find nothing scratches that like getting a match up on the schedule. It gives me a fire like no other. You want to know what’s actually scary? What really tests you and forces you to grow?
Commitment.
Love.
Honesty.
Opening a gym.
Building and standing behind a crew day after day, year after year something you might never have.I have found these test me far more than the child like behavior I was into before.
Just look at the image you chose and the post you’ve written vs mine. You’re alone, playing theater, attempting to follow through with this fake character you have created. I’m around a family which took years of commitment, hard work and loyalty, speaking my mind freely, being real, not a fake character.
I know who I am, where I stand and who stands behind me.
Life is simple.
All I need is good food, good people and something to get ready for.
Do you know who you are AJ?@kasaigrappling let’s make it happen.”
Might we see a superfight between these two in the future?
