Garry Tonon Wins 1st BJJ Match In Two Years Via Submission In 77kg Division At ADCC

Garry Tonon is back in action on the mats after a two-year hiatus to focus on his MMA career, and don’t worry — he’s still terrifying. The EBI champ and ONE Championship fighter, now blond, took his place on the mats in all-American garb and racked up three points before submitting Mateusz Gamrot with a rear naked choke with plenty of time to spare.

Lucas Lepri will also be moving on after defeating Aussie favorite Lachlan Giles in their first-round match, and Edwin Najmi was eliminated via referee decision in a close match with Celso Vinicius.

You can view the original brackets here. Check out the results of the 77kg division and see who will be going head-to-head in the quarter-finals below:

Torres defeats Nicholls via points; Jackson defeats Combs via points.
