Garry Tonon’s name has helped SubStars generate a lot of buzz for their next event, and now, he’ll be using his own star power for good.
The We Defy Foundation Vice President/ Director of National Ambassador Network and Training Facilities, TJ Kreutzer, has announced that Tonon has pledged to donate the money earned from his ticket sales and PPV for the event to the We Defy Foundation. The organization is dedicated to helping members of the military and law enforcement with their physical and mental health through jiu-jitsu.
Tonon isn’t the first athlete to take this step — his teammate, Gordon Ryan, announced days ago that he would be making donations to We Defy through the same means. If you intend to view the event, in which Ryan will be taking on Aaron “Tex” Johnson in a co-main event and Tonon will be facing Dustin Poirier in the main event, you can use code “TEAMTONON” or “KINGRYAN” to ensure that your purchase goes to the We Defy Foundation.
