Gabi Garcia’s next MMA fight will take place on New Year’s Eve against Brazilian kickboxer Barbara Nepomuceno, according to MMAFighting.com.
The match will be a Rizin event taking place at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena. Although the fight will take place at 226 lbs, Garcia will have a significant weight advantage over her 198-lb opponent. Garcia, who is 6’2″, has a notoriously hard time finding opponents who match her size, and although these size differences have sparked controversy in her past fights, Nepomuceno was actively looking to fight the Brazilian jiu-jitsu superstar.
The Garcia vs. Nepomuceno fight will take place on the same card as a much-hyped exhibition boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Tenshin Nasukawa.
