After winning her Fight 2 Win debut in about one minute, Gabi Garcia will return to the stage this weekend.
Garcia will once again be part of the main event, but this time, she’ll be taking on Nathiely de Jesus, who will be hoping to take Garcia’s heavyweight title away. De Jesus, a multiple-time World Champion, is somewhat of a regular on the Fight 2 Win stage, but even though she’s considered one of the best jiu-jitsu athletes of her generation, even she won’t have an easy time defeating the two-time ADCC champion.
The co-main event of the evening will see local up-and-comer Kody Steele facing off against 2019 ADCC competitor Jon Satava. Satava, a Marcelo Garcia black belt who qualified for the prestigious competition at last year’s East Coast Trials, is perhaps the favorite coming into this match, but Steele shouldn’t be underestimated. The Texas native has the hometown advantage on the stage in Austin, and given his impressive performances in both IBJJF events and sub-only events like 3rd Coast Grappling, we can expect him to put on a real show against Satava.
Also on this card will be the groundbreaking match between blue belts Mike Sanchez and Luke Perry. Sanchez will make history as Fight 2 Win’s first blind competitor, and Perry has taken him up on the challenge to wear a blindfold during their match. This will be a can’t-miss event for BJJ fans.
