With the superfight spots filled and most of the tournament competitors already chosen, 3rd Coast Grappling’s qualifier event on October 26 is shaping up to be a seriously fun night of jiu-jitsu to look forward to.
The main event of the evening will see 2019 World Championship runner-up Lucas Valente facing off against Bill “The Grill” Cooper, who won Worlds as a brown belt. The co-main event will be a match between rising BJJ stars Roberto Jimenez and Pedro Marinho. Additional superfights will also take place throughout the night.
The event will also feature two exciting brackets — one for <180lb male blue belts in the gi and one for <160lb female blue belts in no-gi. The brackets will each feature eight competitors, and the winner of each will have a superfight on February’s 3rd Coast Grappling 3 event, which will feature Gordon Ryan vs. Felipe Pena as the main event. If 3CG 3 is anything like the first two 3CG events, we can expect the rest of the card to be just as star-studded as the main event of the evening.
Remember also that 3CG has partnered with Grappling Industries for this event. GI Houston on October 5 will be sending two winners (one male and one female) of the absolute division to 3CG’s October competition to be featured in superfights for their respective divisions.
