On Wednesday, October 20, Who’s Number One (WNO) will hold its first-ever mid-week event with a card featuring a trio of WNO championship matches and the return of 2019 ADCC double champion Gordon Ryan. Betting odds have been released for the event and, predictably, Ryan is a massive favorite in his “exhibition” match against current UFC welterweight fighter Philip Rowe. The main event will be conducted under special rules. Like other WNO matches, it will be submission-only and scheduled for 15 minutes. But unlike other WNO matches, in the event of a submission, the match will simply restart back on the feet — similar to a roll in the gym.
According to the odds, Ryan is favored to secure over five submissions over the course of 15 minutes (the “-1000” next to the zero submission option is likely a typo). On the other side, the odds are -5000 that Ryan will not be submitted, meaning that a $5,000 wager would earn $100 if he is not in fact submitted.
Lower on the card, Bia Mesquita is a moderate favorite over Luiza Monteiro, and Ffion Davies is a slight favorite over Nathalie “Tata” Ribeiro in their title matches. Unity Jiu-Jitsu’s berimbolo specialist Levi Jones-Leary is favored in his WNO debut over recent ADCC trials winner Oliver Taza. And rounding out the main card, Mikey Musumeci is a massive favorite in his bantamweight title match against Richard Alarcon.
