Former UFC Lightweight Champ Anthony Pettis Has Signed With The PFL

Well, that didn’t take long.

About a day after announcing that he would be departing the UFC to be a free agent, Anthony Pettis has joined forces with the PFL.

The promotion announced the big signing alongside ESPN earlier today:

The former UFC lightweight champion concluded his contract with the UFC over the weekend with a win over Alex Morono, later openly discussing his interest in free agency and then announcing that he’d parted ways with the UFC after over a decade.

Many people suspected that Pettis might later sign to Bellator given that his brother, Sergio Pettis, is currently fighting for them. Still, the decision to go to the PFL isn’t a complete surprise. The promotion recently signed fellow former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum as well.
