Fight 2 Win makes its return to Cleveland this Saturday and is bringing with it one of the most anticipated athletes to ever compete for the promotion.
The co-main event of the evening will feature none other than former UFC champion Stipe Miocic, who will be going up against Carlson Gracie’s Aaron Howard in a 240lb purple belt gi match. The fact that Howard is a police officer makes him a fitting opponent for Miocic, who is also a firefighter. Miocic hopes to raise funds and awareness for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation through his match.
Following their match will be the main event, which will be between #4-ranked Jaime Canuto and #5-ranked Michael Liera Jr.. Canuto has an extensive list of IBJJF championship titles, including American Nationals. He also won CBJJ Brazilian Nationals in 2017. Liera Jr. is a former Pans and Euros champion, and he and Canuto will be worthy opponents for each other at F2W 110.
Among the other exciting matches for the evening will be Max Gimenis vs. Alexander Huddleston, Mark Vives vs. Pablo Castro, and a 175lb brown belt no-gi title match between the Jiu-Jitsu Times’ own Emil Fischer and Matt Paul.
