Second-degree black belt and multiple-time World gold medalist Gilbert Burns has secured another “W” for himself in the UFC.
The 29-year-old Brazilian who resides in Boca Raton dispatched of his Polish opponent, Lukasz Sajewski, via a first-round armbar. The win pushes his MMA record up to 12-1.
Burns holds gold medals in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships, Nogi World Jiu-Jitsu Championships, and World Cup. He earned a bronze medal in the 2015 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship in São Paulo.
His younger brother, Herbert, competes in the Asian mixed martial arts promotion, ONE Championship.
