Fight 2 Win was one of the many jiu-jitsu promotions that had to cancel events due to the coronavirus outbreak, and now, they’re planning a tentative comeback for May.
F2W CEO Seth Daniels released the announcement earlier today with the help of Justin Timberlake (kind of).
Daniels told the Jiu-Jitsu Times that nothing is set in stone yet and no further details have been released just yet. “I have the plan, I just need to execute it,” he said.
The promotion normally hosts an event almost every weekend, but due to the pandemic, its last event was F2W 137 in early March. Daniels had insisted on also holding F2W 138 in Dallas on March 14, but was forced to cancel the day before after the venue prohibited events in response to the virus’ spread. The cancelation cost the promotion about $30,000, according to Daniels.
While F2W is among the first grappling promotions to announce their return, it’s not the only one to do so. In fact, Submission Underground 13 happened this weekend without a live audience, culminating in a brutal win by Craig Jones over Vinny Magalhaes.
The Jiu-Jitsu Times will provide updates on this situation as they become available.
