Fight 2 Win is back in action tonight for its 143rd event, continuing its strong comeback following coronavirus shutdowns.
The event is set to be yet another big one for Dallas, with multiple title matches and even an open weight match between two of the top ADCC 2021 contenders.
The main event of the evening will be for the black belt heavyweight gi title, with Victor Hugo going up against Fellipe Andrew for the honor. Hugo has had a ridiculously successful first year at black belt, famously defeating Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu in the absolutes at No-Gi Worlds in 2019. He also boasts a 2-0 black belt record at F2W, with his most recent victory taking place at F2W 135 against Nicholas Meregali.
Andrew, who won Euros both last year and this year, will be making his black belt F2W debut tonight, and though he and Hugo haven’t faced each other at this rank yet, Hugo defeated Andrew when they faced off for a different event about three years ago. Both athletes have developed significantly since they last met in competition, and this main event is the perfect reunion.
The co-main event of the night will also be a title fight, this time between Ana Carolina Vieira and Nathiely de Jesus. Both athletes are multiple-time world champions, considered to be two of the best grapplers of their generation. Neither are strangers to the F2W world, and de Jesus made waves when she defeated Gabi Garcia last year on that very stage. Their match will be for the black belt gi welterweight title.
Of course, you can’t talk about this event without bringing up the exciting open weight match set to take place between Elisabeth Clay and Kendall Reusing. Reusing just competed in the main event of F2W 142 against Garcia, and she’s already back for more against the formidable Clay, who famously qualified for ADCC as a 16-year-old blue belt. Reusing has a wide assortment of hardware from her time as a colored belt, and though she was just promoted to black belt last year, she’s already added a black belt No-Gi Worlds title to her lengthy BJJ resume. Clay, though, is not to be underestimated — the young prodigy has been making a name for herself for years, and she’s proven that she can go head to head with some of the toughest grapplers in the game.
As always, these matches will follow numerous exciting fights on the undercard, and you can watch them all as they stream live from Dallas, TX tonight on FloGrappling.
