The 3rd Coast Grappling: Kumite 6 bracket has undergone a shakeup over the past few days, but now, the promotion has confirmed their new finalized card.
Victor Hugo now has a new opponent as Arnaldo Maidana steps up to replace Lucas Barbosa, who had to withdraw from the event due to personal reasons. Maidana is a 3CG Kumite veteran, having competed 3CG Kumite IV. The 2017 no-gi world champion isn’t afraid of a challenge, and he’ll certainly get it in the first round when he faces off against Hugo.
Also jumping into the fray is Felipe Trovo, who just helped carry Gracie Barra to victory at Subversiv 3. Trovo won American Nationals last year in both gi and no-gi, and now, he’ll be making his 3rd Coast Grappling debut against Gabriel Almeida, replacing the injured Gustavo Batista.
Guilherme Augusto has also been finalized as the first-round opponent for Roberto Jimenez, who was briefly left without an opponent after Ricardo Evangelista had to pull out due to a neck injury. We also saw Augusto at 3CG Kumite IV, and the Brazilian Nationals champ is ready for more action as he prepares to face off against Jimenez.
Here are the superfights listed for the event:
- Brandon Gambucci vs Curry Gaut
- Erik Wright vs Omar Hillail
- Orin Nova vs Jordan Vaisman
- Ricky Peoples vs Jordan Plutin
- Abel Salazar vs Isaac Vasquez
- Jay Spiegel vs Isaiah Malik Carlson
- Andy Cordova vs Sergei Zack Edwards
- Casidy Welch vs Shannon O’Shea
- Cristian Guzman vs Brandon Gutierrez
- Kristin Kotinek vs Jessica Crane
3rd Coast Grappling: Kumite 6 will take place on September 12 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
