Fedor on Gagarin night

Yesterday the world celebrated fifty years since man’s first flight into space, by Russia’s Yuri Gagarin. On board the Vostok 1, Gagarin orbited the planet Earth, sent word that the world is blue, and returned home.

Now another Russian, seven years ago, experienced a flight nearly as fantastic and glorifying. He is, of course, cosmonaut Fedor Emelianenko, who “gently” touched ground and ultimately made Kevin Randleman see stars in the Pride GP of 2004.
