Fight 2 Win is back in Seattle tonight, and they’re headlining F2W 185 with a battle between an established BJJ legend and a younger jiu-jitsu star who’s really been making his mark in recent years.
Two-time ADCC champion Yuri Simoes will be taking on Fellipe Andrew in the final match of the night, rounding off an exciting night of local matches with a bang.
Simoes, who’s also won double gold at No-Gi Worlds twice, has been on the F2W stage since the promotion’s beginnings, making his inaugural appearance at F2W 8 with a win against Dean Lister. Since then, he’s become a familiar (and successful) staple on the stage, picking up wins against names like Olympic judo champion Travis Stevens and Rafael Lovato Jr. along the way. Simoes’ most recent F2W endeavor led him to victory against Devhonte Johnson, and he later went on to defeat Mahamed Aly at BJJ Stars. Tonight, he’ll be trying to get his third consecutive victory on the mats, but it won’t be easy.
Andrew has yet to lose a match in 2021. He kicked off his competitive year with double gold at American Nationals, then went on to defeat Max Gimenis in the finals of the Austin Open to win gold. He then defeated Gimenis again, this time at F2W 181, before earning double-gold at Pans (which, by the way, he also did in 2020). We last saw Andrew compete at F2W 183, where he took home a win against Fellipe Trovo. Will his streak continue, or will Simoes be the first opponent this year to put a dent in his record?
Of course, there are many more exciting matches to look forward to before Simoes and Andrew take the stage, so make sure you’re watching this card from start to finish.
F2W 183 takes place tonight and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
