After last week’s F2W 173, which saw Kendall Reusing submit Talita Nogueira in the co-main event, Fight 2 Win is coming to Atlanta for F2W 174.
This time around, the promotion will be putting Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa and Aaron “Tex” Johnson on the stage for the main event of the evening.
Johnson has already had two F2W matches this year, winning the first against Arnaldo Maidana at F2W 161 before coming back at F2W 163, resulting in a loss against Max Gimenis. Barbosa, on the other hand, hasn’t graced the F2W stage since last year, when he snatched two consecutive victories in a row — one from Roberto Jimenez and one from Rafael Lovato Jr. Though both athletes have an extensive list of accomplishments to their names, this will be the first time they’ve faced off against each other.
The co-main event will see Raquel Pa’aluhi Canuto take on Amanda “Tubby” Alequin. Canuto, a 2017 No-Gi World Champion, most recenty shined at SUG 23, where she picked up a quick guillotine win against Gillian Robertson. In another superfight win, this time at Kasai Pro 7 last year, she defeated Gabi McComb with a rear naked choke. Still, she’ll have her hands full with Alequin, who is the promotion’s first-ever female two-division champion. Alequin claimed the 135 lb no-gi title at F2W 162 when she won a ref’s decision against Nathalie Ribeiro. More recently, at F2W 171, she took on Gabi McComb in a no-gi flyweight title match, winning the bout and the belt via split decision.
In a third major match of the night, Richar Nogueira will be entering the fray fresh off the heels of a triangle choke victory at F2W 173. He’ll be taking on 2021 No-Gi Pans bronze medalist Orlando Castillo prior to Alequin vs. Canuto.
Of course, don’t just tune in to watch the main card matches — there are plenty more matches between local athletes and rising stars that will be providing great jiu-jitsu entertainment throughout the night.
F2W 174 will take place on Friday, June 18, and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
