Erin Herle has once again organized a #submitthestigma seminar. She previously shared her experiences with our publication. Her work is a major service to those grapplers who struggle with depression or mental illness of some kind. #submitthestigma exists to help others seek the help and mental healthcare they need in order to survive and thrive within the Jiu-Jitsu community and in their daily lives.
As some of you may know, I have also shared my own personal struggles with depression for others to see. The work being done by Erin is one of the most important things happening within our community. You can get your tickets HERE. The last seminar saw the likes of numerous world champions and top-tier competitors. This one is sure to be just as amazing. Get your tickets as quickly as you can. It will be held on October 2, 2016 at the NYC Police Academy in Queens, NY.

Here is the registration link for the NYC #submitthestigma Charity Seminar on October 2 at the New York City Police Academy in Queens. It will be held the day after the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Pan No-Gi Championship.
All proceeds will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness. A representative from the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York Citywill be giving a presentation about what mental illness and mental health are, the services NAMI offers, and the steps toward eliminating the stigma. We all matter in this fight.
This event will feature a list of names, some yet to be announced, that all have achieved greatness on the mats.
There is a $25 donation requirement but you are not limited to this amount. If you simply cannot afford this entry fee, please let me know. Awareness, above all, is my priority.
Help me normalize mental health. Jiu-jitsu has saved my life, saved me from myself, saved me from my demons–and I know many of you feel the same way.
