The lat time Eddie Cummings went up against Geovanny “Freakahzoid” Martinez, things didn’t go his way. Martinez defeated Cummings in overtime in the finals at EBI 10, and since then, the two have yet to meet up again. But on December 16, these two will finally get the rematch that they (and their fans) have been hoping for.
Grappling Industries will be making its return to NYC at the end of the year, and thanks to a text message that promoter David Aguzzi received from Martinez on Tuesday night, the tournament will feature a sub-only superfight between Freakahzoid and the Wolverine. Martinez specifically asked Aguzzi for the opportunity to face Cummings, who instantly agreed to the matchup when asked if he’d be interested.
According to a Facebook post from Aguzzi, the match will happen at 145 lbs and have a 20-minute time limit with three judges.
Cummings was originally supposed to have a superfight against Paulo Miyao at Grappling Industries Manhattan last weekend, but Miyao had to drop out due to an injury.
