Controversy monger Jason Miller (24w, 7l) flew to Rio de Janeiro with his training partner Patrick Cummins to “drink from the source,” as reported by the team at Portal do Vale-Tudo.
At Gordo-Evolve academy, they had a grappling lesson with Zé Mario Sperry, who trains there. The “trip” this week also includes visits to Gustavo Ximu at Gracie Barra, a team training at full steam for the Brazilian No-Gi Nationals coming up on the 30th.
Miller, who is coming off an arm-triangle-submission win over Kazushi Sakuraba, also has a visit to X-Gym programmed, where he will train with Sylvio Behring, Rafael Feijão, and his rival at Dream FC, Ronaldo Jacaré.
The athletes also took a hike up Pedra da Gávea mountain, a classic part of Carioca (Rio de Janeiro natives) Jiu-Jitsu practitioners’ training.
