Sitting absolute world champion Dominyka Obelenyte keeps winning IBJJF tournaments. The latest was this Saturday’s Charlotte International Open, in North Carolina.
Obelenyte had no opponent at super-heavyweight and got gold automatically. In the open division she beat Laurah Elizabeth of GFTeam.
The male standout was Alliance’s Fernando Reis, who also won double gold. He beat Gracie Barra’s John Rickel at ultra-heavyweight, and in the open he beat middleweight winner Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa.
João Miyao got the light featherweight title as he beat Paulo Roberto Santana (Alliance);
Alliance was the best-performing team, trailed by Roberto Traven BJJ and Team Royce Gracie.
