The latest in a string of rearranged fights, Dominick Cruz is claiming to be on deck to replace Jose Aldo for the Bantamweight title fight against champion Henry “The King of Cringe” Cejudo on May 9. The former champion made the announcement on social media while the UFC has yet to confirm his claim.
According to multiple reports, visa issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic will evidently keep Aldo from leaving Brazil and Cruz was one of the more vocal fighters jockeying to replace him. Having lost the belt to Cody Garbrandt in 2016, Cruz has not fought in over three years.
