Dimitrius Souza, Cássio Francis dominate Salvador Spring Open

Dimitrius works on top at the Salvador Open. No Tatame/IBJJF

Last weekend the IBJJF held the Salvador Open in the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia. In the classical section, Dimitrius Souza added another couple of gold medals to the hardware he has been consistently acquiring on Brazilian soil. The Alliance fighter beat Vinicius Ferreira (Nova União) at heavyweight and then beat super-heavyweight Cássio Francis for the absolute title.

“Cassão” took gold and silver in classical, and double gold in no-gi. No Tatame/IBJJF

Cássio Francis came back on day 2 to do even better in no-gi. He won the super-heavyweight division ahead of Bruno Souza (Fit Combat BJJ) and shared the absolute podium with his teammate Hélio Mourão (Gracie Barra).

The complete classical results can be found here. For the no-gi results, click here.
