Dillon Danis is about to be back in action in the cage.
Bellator MMA president Scott Coker announced earlier today that Danis will be going up against Kegan Gennrich in a 175lb fight at Bellator 238, which takes place in January 2020.
Danis, a Marcelo Garcia BJJ black belt who won Pans in 2016, last fought in June of this year. He’s currently 2-0 in MMA, with both of his wins coming via submission. Danis’ personality and trash-talking nature have made him a polarizing figure in both MMA and jiu-jitsu. A friend and training partner of Conor McGregor, Danis was also involved in the infamous brawl between McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teams at UFC 229.
Gennrich hasn’t yet fought for Bellator but has a 2-1 record fighting for the SFC and CFFC. His only loss in his professional career thus far has come via armbar, though he also scored a win with an armbar of his own.
Danis vs. Gennrich and the other fights on Bellator 238 will take place on January 25, 2020.
