Ever since UFC President Dana White said Conor McGregor will make a personal statement after UFC 205, where he is set to fight Eddie Alvarez with the lightweight belt on the line, several rumors have arisen, including a possible retirement announcement. So the Dec. 12 event in New York may turn out to be the Irishman’s last-ever Octagon showing. His BJJ coach, Dillon Danis, says not to bet on it, though.

“He’s going to go down as the best fighter probably in history,” Danis told Submission Radio. “So he could do whatever he wants, really. But yeah, I see him fighting. I mean, he already said that he really wants to do the trilogy with Nate [Diaz]. He said that on record, so he probably does have that fight and stuff. But who knows! Maybe he wants to fight Mayweather, stuff like that. There’s a lot of options for him. That’s the good thing about him, you know, he has so many options.”
