Fourth-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Demian Maia, fresh off of his win against former interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit, wants a shot at the belt.
“I’m just so happy that I think now I earned the title shot,” an emotional Maia told color commentator and former UFC fighter, Brian Stann. “Now, finally I will get the chance to fight for the belt.”
If Maia is right, this will be his first shot at a UFC title since his 2010 defeat at the hands of Anderson Silva at UFC 112.
Demian Maia has never held a UFC title.
