Demian Maia is continuing to explore his opportunities in high-profile grappling matches and has booked his Polaris debut against former UFC Champion Benson Henderson in a 20-minute bout at Polaris 20 on June 25th.
Maia, the former ADCC champion, has expressed his interest in high-level jiu-jitsu matches in the past, before being released from the UFC’s roster. Just this April, he competed against Alex Oliveira at BJJ Stars 8 and earned a triangle submission for the victory at about 2-minutes in.
Polaris 20 will also feature a battle for the Polaris Squad title, as Team USA takes on Team Brazil.
Tickets can be purchased on polarisprograppling.com and the event will stream on UFC Fight Pass.
