Demian Maia — former UFC welterweight title contender and fourth-degree BJJ black belt — is making no excuses for his loss to Colby Covington this weekend at UFC Fight Night 119 in his hometown of Sao Paulo, Brazil. But he is not letting that loss get him down.
Demian made a post earlier today about his loss, saying that while his opponent deserved the victory, he was leaving his head high:

Maia is currently riding a two-fight losing streak, but he is still arguably one of the greatest grapplers in MMA history. Despite being 39 years old, Maia has taken down some of the top fighters in one of the most stacked divisions in the world’s top MMA promotion. For instance, Demian submitted former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit in the first round of their fight at UFC on Fox last year.
Demian Maia has every right to keep his head held high.
