Watch out, Master 2 brown belts — a combat sports legend has officially entered your division. ONE FC star and former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson has signed up to compete at IBJJF Masters Worlds. The flyweight king will be entering the men’s Master 2 featherweight division at brown belt, according to official IBJJF athlete registration lists. He will be representing AMC Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and joins one of the largest brackets at the tournament, comprising over 30 gold medal hopefuls.
Masters Worlds takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada between August 31 and September 2. The venue’s registration capacity currently sits at over 90% — meaning there’s still technically time for featherweight brown belt men between the ages of 36 and 40 to sign up for a chance to take their shot against one of the best flyweight fighters on the planet for a jiu-jitsu world title.
All matches will stream live from FloGrappling.
