UFC and ONE Championship legend Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson has a new feather to add to his cap: in addition to his accolades as MMA’s flyweight king, he defeated six opponents at IBJJF Masters Worlds 2023 to become this year’s Masters 2 brown belt featherweight world champion.
The M2 men’s featherweight division at brown belt included more than 30 athletes. Johnson showcased tremendous positional dominance in his matches, defeating silver medalist Michael Harmeling 10-0 in the finals match to claim gold. According to Ariel Helwani, Masters Worlds was Johnson’s first ever “competitive BJJ tournament.”
